on friday evening july 17th when sonnet begins her first of four unplugged performances at lagoon amusement park, she will be reviving a storied musical past that has been dormant for more than 30 years.

sonnet is set to appear on the game time stage that is in the same area of the park where some of the legendary music acts of the 50s, 60s and 70s played. the “patio gardens” (as it was then known) inside lagoon, became the concert spot of utah during the 50s and 60s, playing host to such luminaries as ella fitzgerald, louis armstrong, johnny mathis and frankie avalon. later the patio gardens welcomed rock n’ roll legends bill haley and the comets, jimi hendrix, janis joplin, the rolling stones, the doors and the beach boys to name but a few.

sonnet has become a household name in utah since her hit single titled, “you’re so good for me” appeared on the lagoon’s 2009 advertising campaign. since then, due to the unprecedented positive public response to her song, sonnet has been featured on numerous television and radio interviews. her song has been downloaded more than 7,000 times from lagoon’s website www.lagoonpark.com with thousands more downloading the hit single on amazon.com and iTunes.

sonnet will appear in rare live unplugged performances friday july 17th and saturday july 18th at 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m., and is slated to sing her popular song from lagoon’s 2009 advertising campaign along with a few new songs from her debut album scheduled for release this fall.
