sonnet wows! lagoon audiences

with summer temperatures hovering near 100 degrees, fun-seekers by the thousands converged on lagoon for a picture-perfect weekend. later, on both friday and saturday evenings, sonnet appeared on lagoon’s “game time arcade stage,” as cheering fans braved the sweltering heat for her rare IVE performances and a chance to meet the singer/songwriter sensation who has become a household name in utah.
near the stage where such musical legends as ella fitzgerald, louis armstrong, the rolling stones, the doors and the beach boys performed, sonnet wowed audiences with new songs from her upcoming debut album, along with a few well-known covers, and her hit single from the lagoon commercials. keith stubbs of 101.5 the eagle was the emcee for the evening.
following her two nightly performances Sonnet signed autographs and took pictures with adoring fans.
sonnet gained widespread popularity when her song titled, “you’re so good for me” appeared on lagoon’s 2009 advertising campaign. due to the popularity of her song, sonnet appeared on seven different local radio stations and two television stations to answer questions about her hit song and her wildly successful association with lagoon. In total sonnet’s media appearances garnered more than three hours of FREE media time both for lagoon and sonnet.
to date, sonnet’s song has been downloaded more than 14,000 times for FREE from lagoon’s website www.lagoonpark.com with thousands more downloading her hit single on amazon.com and iTunes. by mid-june “you’re so good for me” was already listed on amazon.com’s top 100 downloads.
sonnet’s official music video is due out in august on iTunes, while her debut album is expected to be released in early november.
sonnet (www.sonnetmusic.com) is slated to appear in los angeles this week at the renowned seth riggs summer vocal camp (www.speechlevelsinging.com) as a featured performer/presenter along with notable recording artists chaka khan (www.chakakhan.com), james ingram (www.jamesingrammusic.com) and others.
